Conveniently located by Bank tube station, 1 Lombard Street may be a City institution – but it’s not one to rest on its laurels. The restaurant has recently finished a refurbishment programme that spruced up the already stunning interiors and includes a new reception and brasserie area. Head chef Tim Richardson continues to serve up European food alongside a varied wine and cocktail list. There is also plenty of space for events: book the whole place exclusively for 180 diners or 450 reception guests, or throw an intimate dinner for 55 in the fine-dining Restaurant. The cosy Red Room is a PDR for 15 to 40; groups of 10 or less can book tables in the Brasserie.
