Affectionately known as ‘The Gherkin’, this distinctive skyscraper is a much-loved feature on the London skyline and one of the hottest venues in town. Sitting under the glass apex 180m up, the Bar & Restaurant 40|30 feels as if it’s suspended in the sky, offering 360-degree panoramas of the capital. It’s reserved for tenants and members during the day, so private evening and weekend events are the only way in. Sunset is a particularly stunning time and atmospheric lighting can be arranged to make the most of the views, which stretch out to the Olympic site. For a slice of the vista during the day, two modern private dining rooms on Level 38 are available for all-day dining and meeting.
