Tucked away in a six-acre garden just behind City Road, the Honourable Artillery Company is one of London’s hidden gems. On the north side of its expansive lawns sits the historic Armoury House, where period spaces include the standout Long Room, which has beautiful old oak panelling and a minstrels’ gallery. Adjacent to this, in the shell of the original Victorian drill hall, are the contemporary Prince Consort Rooms, where two spacious areas can be used separately or in combination, accommodating dinners for up to 450 and receptions for around 750. The huge garden can be hired for a range of summer events and sports including cricket, football, rugby, softball and croquet.
