Part of the Royal Horticultural Halls, the Lawrence Hall is a striking art deco space in Westminster. The hall was built in 1927 and won a RIBA Gold Medal for its revolutionary design, which incorporates a series of concrete arches soaring to 80ft. It is one of the few venues in central London that can take up to 1,000 people theatre style or 1,800 for a drinks reception. Domed skylights are an attractive feature, though full blackout can be achieved with blinds and there’s an intelligent lighting system. Set in leafy Vincent Square, transport links are another asset, with Victoria and Pimlico tube stations nearby. Value for money and green initiatives are also notably high on the agenda here.
