The Royal Exchange Information:
The Royal Exchange is one of the City's most magnificent landmarks. Built in 1565, it has survived two fires & its grade 1 listed columns & arches are now home to luxury shops & the aptly-named Grand Café & Bar. In the airy, original courtyard a chic oval bar serves a superb selection of crustacean. Above & all around is a series of wonderful stone-wall mezzanines housing two chic bars, a unique private dining room & Restaurant Sauterelle. The modern D&D London menus include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea & dinner. The Royal Exchange Grand Café & Bar's head chef Oliver Prince brings his passion and enthusiasm of cooking with seasonal ingredients to create simple, tasty, skilful & well balanced dishes.
Oliver Prince's repertoire combines old Café favourites together with a selection of his own, perhaps a Chicken Club, Shellfish cocktail, a chilled Gazpacho or Eggs Benedict to name but a few. Its location means the Grand Cafe attracts smart local business professionals, wealthy shoppers & tourists who use it as an atmospheric pit stop any time of the day.
Every last Friday of the month, you are invited to join the REX club on the Threadneedle mezzanine. From 6pm, we will be hosting one on one sessions with our mixologist, Zoran Peric, while our resident DJ will be playing laid back beats.
The venue hosts groups of up to 300 seated or 800 standing. The Threadneedle bar caters for events of 30 to 200 guests. A private dining room called Salon Privé is perfect for parties of 8 to 26 wanting a seated breakfast meeting, lunch and dinner, or groups of 20 to 50 standing reception-style. Facilities include Wi-Fi, a projection screen and sound system. Audio, lighting, entertainment & flowers can also be arranged. Closed Saturday & Sunday.
