Bistro
Tucked away in a tiny courtyard off a sidestreet near Bank, The Don occupies the old Sandeman Port cellars, where the company’s famous sherries, Madeiras and ports were bottled for 200 years. The bright, airy restaurant continues to win over City veterans with its charming atmosphere, top-notch modern French food and efficient service. Its bistro (seating 50), White Room (seating 45), Sandeman Room (seating 24) and Wine Study (seating 16) can be hired in the evening, providing settings for dinner parties and other events. The urban set-up is in tune with the new mood of restraint in the City, though the excellent wine list is certainly worth exploring.
