Tucked away in a tiny courtyard off a City sidestreet near Bank station, The Don Restaurant & Bistro occupies the atmospheric old Sandeman Port cellars, where for 200 years the famous sherries, madeiras & ports were bottled. The bright, airy restaurant continues to win over sceptical City veterans with its charming atmosphere, top-notch modern Gallic food & gracious service. The downstairs bistro & cellars can be hired as a private room in the evening & provide a great setting for dinner parties & private events. It is an urban set-up that is very much in tune with the new mood of restraint in the City, though the excellent wine list is certainly worth exploring.
