The Crypt
With a history dating back to the sixth century, The Crypt famously hosted the grand wedding feast for Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Wedding receptions are still a particularly strong suit here, with the time-worn stone walls, candlelight and beautiful beamed ceilings evoking images of eras gone, while the intimacy of the space ensures that its distinctive character is not lost. The Crypt also offers a great talking point at more business-orientated events and the space can be easily adapted to accommodate anything from corporate banquets to cocktail receptions and Christmas parties. Food comes courtesy of the talented team from the Bleeding Heart restaurant next door.
