When Gleneagles opened in 1924 it was described as ‘a Riviera in the Highlands’ & ‘the eighth wonder of the world’ & the hotel remains dedicated to quality to this day. It can offer assistance with any event, from a corporate golf day to a complete lease-out of the hotel. Once an event has been confirmed, an event manager will be on hand to help with planning & organisation – be it advising on wines to complement menu choices, suggesting how to lay out a meeting room, or booking a particular type of band to get guests in the mood for dancing. Comprehensively equipped conference suites include the traditional rooms in the main building, as used by the world's leaders in the 2005 G8 Summit, & contemporary facilities in the newer Braid House. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is refreshingly unstuffy, & staff are genuinely eager-to-please. The resort is just an hour’s drive on the motorway from Edinburgh.
