It was quite a wait, but since re-opening late in 2010 after a three-year closure, The Savoy is glowing with every penny of its £220m refurbishment. The hotel’s central West End location has long been a pull for all manner of high-rolling guests and the locale (added to the salubrious surrounds!) makes it equally suited to top-end events. Three beautiful banqueting rooms, the largest of which seats 380 for dinner, are serviced by a la carte menus – a big draw for organisers. A portfolio of six functions rooms, just as glossily attired as the rest of the place, is suited to day-time meetings. For smaller groups, dinner at the 12-seater private dining room in the River Restaurant is a seriously hot ticket.
