Venue Review of Weddings at Middle Temple Hall

As one of the finest Elizabethan halls in the country, Middle Temple Hall is surely one of the City’s most atmospheric settings for weddings, as well as proposals – it was the location for Bridget Jones’ engagement in The Edge of Reason. Located just off Victoria Embankment near Fleet Street and St Paul’s, the hall has views of the Thames and its secluded garden is one of London’s best-kept secrets. Very little of the original venue has changed since it was built in 1573; oak panelling and intricate carvings decorate the four function rooms, the largest of which holds up to 300 guests for a wedding breakfast, or 500 for a reception. The Parliament Chamber and Queen’s Room are licensed for civil ceremonies and hold 75 and 50 people respectively. For religious ceremonies, the City isn’t short of beautiful churches.
