The stately backdrop of the Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library – now decorated in warm, spice-inspired tones – gives this upmarket Indian a sophisticated private-club feel. But its magnificent interior is not the only draw. Assured and precise cooking ranges from canapés to exceptional tandoori meats (game season is a particular highlight), alongside less conventional offerings. These can be served on the elegant 30-seater mezzanine overlooking the main dining room, where privacy is matched with buzz from the always-busy restaurant. This space also works well for receptions for 50, while a private dining room can seat 60. The downstairs bar takes 80 standing guests.
