More than a century since it opened, the Science Museum is still drawing the crowds – corporate hire facilities are more diverse than ever, with capacities reaching up to 1,500 – and it’s easy to see the appeal. Where else can you dine next to the scorched Apollo 10 command module? Or mingle under the first plane to cross the Atlantic? Daytime meetings are well catered for in the blank-canvas gallery on Level 1, the elegant Director’s Suite or the IMAX cinema. Science-based teambuilding packages are popular, as are the slick, contemporary galleries in the Wellcome Wing. A further addition to the events facilities, the Media Space, recently opened on the venue’s second floor.
On 4 March 2014, The V&A, Science Museum and Natural History Museum will open their doors for what is set to be another successful ‘Strictly SW7’. The South Ken trio’s showcase event sees each museum show off what it can do for corporate events, with attendees moving between the three venues over the course of the evening. Entertainment, lighting, flower and furnishing suppliers will all feature – catering is always a highlight, with the likes of Ampersand taking the reins at the Natural History Museum.
