Within the Kings Place cultural centre, a short stroll from King’s Cross St Pancras, the Rotunda Bar & Restaurant hugs the waterfront at Battlebridge basin. In summer months, it spills out on to a sizeable terrace where alfresco eating and drinking options raise the venue’s overall capacity. Inside and out, modern, ingredients-led British food chimes with the sleek surrounds: home-cured Scottish salmon might be followed by a chargrilled rack of lamb. Meat comes from the Rotunda’s own Northumbrian farm, but is hung and butchered on-site in N1. Groups of up to 24 can take the private dining room, which is straight-talking enough for meetings as well.
Kings Place’s in-house restaurant, Rotunda, has just opened up a secret garden for events. Located just alongside Regents Canal, the space offers outdoor bars and seating, barbecue food and even giant chess.
