Venue Review of Old Billiard Room at 8 Northumberland Avenue

The Old Billiard Room is the second largest of the 10 event spaces at 8 Northumberland Avenue, just off Trafalgar Square. The whole building underwent a major refurbishment in 2009, restoring the interiors to their grand Victorian style and installing hi-tech AV kit (controlled by iPad). The room itself, beneath the main Ballroom, is suitable for conferences, dinner dances or parties. If more space is required, there’s an annex, which works well as a reception or dancing area – it holds 200 standing – for dinner events. For larger events still, the Old Billiard Room can be used in conjunction with the Ballroom, the venue’s largest space. This combination will accommodate around 900 guests.

8 Northumberland has teamed up with lighting specialist amBX to offer a permanently installed interactive lighting system. Organisers now have the power to light the Old Billiard Room to whichever colour best suits the event. The equipment operates from an iPad and can be set to react to music.
