One of four ancient Inns of Court, Inner Temple’s history seeps from every corner. But don’t expect fustiness or old-fashioned service – its events are run by Searcys, who have a firm grip on the latest trends. There are four rooms to choose from: the magnificent oak-panelled Main Hall seats 250 for a banquet; the country house-style Parliament Chamber holds receptions of 200; the Luncheon Room overlooking the gardens takes 70 for a meeting; and the Drawing Room seats 30 for intimate dining. In summer the star attraction is the three-acre garden with views over the Thames, space for a large marquee and access to the historic Temple Church grounds.

Throughout July, the EC4 venue’s 600-capacity marquee will be available for hire. Prices start at £89pp for bookings of 300 people and include a canapé reception, unlimited drinks, giant garden games and a BBQ. Parties can also make use of the main hall to extend the event, with a DJ and lighting included.
