A refurbishment has brought in a softer look at the Mayfair Exchange link in the Balls Brothers chain. Open-plan interiors deliver a modern take on the traditional wine bar, with entertaining space suitable for up to 250 guests. There are three private rooms – two in partnership with Pommery Champagne – for smaller events such as dining or meetings for up to 12 guests. The menu is also a little lighter on its feet these days, with the addition of a comprehensive crustacea section, including Colchester oysters and whole Cornish crab. An extensive wine and cocktail list (part of the famous 5pm happy hour) and live music nights are further clues to its popularity.
