Since 1863, this corner of Chelsea Green has been home to a pub where explorers and travellers would congregate to plan and exchange stories of their voyages. Today, it’s an informal brasserie and
bar, which although still decorated with an old-time adventurer’s theme, now attracts a more landlubbing clientele: well-heeled locals thirsty for one of the excellent Bloody Marys, perhaps. Food
stays closer to home too, with British produce forming the backbone of the all-day modern European menu. Available for exclusive hire, the venue can accommodate 70 diners or 150 reception guests.
There’s also a table for eight in the main dining room – book it on a Tuesday for Punch & Piano night.
