Art-laden walls, Conran interiors and one of the finest fish and seafood restaurants in London have helped D&D London’s South Place Hotel establish itself as a hip City hang-out. With five dedicated function rooms on its first floor alone, it’s also caught the eye of event organisers.
Function rooms at South Place Hotel are well set up for a variety of events, from corporate meetings to parties and private dinners. First off you have the Purdey and Steed rooms, which combine into a single stylish, flexible space for 100 seated or 200 standing guests. The Peel, Solo and Kuryakin rooms are smaller - perfect for board meetings and more intimate brunches or drinks gatherings - but equally well-equipped with touch panel mood lighting, a full AV suite, 55-inch Bang & Olufsen TVs and blackout blinds. It's worth checking out each room individually as they're all uniquely decorated - you might find the organic feel of Peel's silver birch trees and blonde wood suits you more than Kuryakin's scarlet lacquered table and Arthurian chandelier.
Solo, meanwhile, opens out onto South Place Hotel's speakeasy bar - Le Chiffre - which is also available for private hire. The two can be hired together, giving your guests a relaxed breakout area for informal engagements and winding down post meeting. Hire the five of them together and you’ll have space to invite up to 400 guests for multistage parties.
South Place has outdoor areas available too. The Secret Garden is a tropical outside bar, with heaters, blankets and a retractable roof to help maintain paradise climates. If you fancy a view from a little higher up, the Angler Terrace is a hidden gem, adjacent to Michelin-starred Angler, which accomodates 70 guests standing. It's the perfect spot for a drinks reception, with breathtaking views of London and a retractable roof to keep the worst of the weather away. Alongside your drinks, you can tuck into executive chef Gary Foulkes’ menu of delectable canapés or snacks.
