Great Fosters

About Great Fosters

Great Fosters is in Virginia Water, just outside Windsor in Surrey. The house was built in 1550, its red brick and latticed windows typical of the Tudor manors that appeared throughout England during the 16th century. Elizabeth I’s visit in 1598 is commemorated in a plaque that adorns the hotel’s entryway and another well known figure from her reign, Sir Francis Drake, gifted the estate a sundial for its gardens. Spanning 50 acres, these also include a fountain, a Japanese bridge and a Saxon moat.

Located within half an hour’s drive of central London and Heathrow airport, the Grade I-listed Great Fosters is a genuinely distinctive property. You'll find a wealth of event spaces here, suited to meetings, conferences, team building and more.

The self-contained Coach House has three bespoke meeting rooms, a conference lounge and 22 bedrooms, for example. While the beautiful Orangery, with its tall arched windows and adjoining conservatory, is another secluded space, surrounded by 50 acres of gardens. For smaller events, like a meeting or lunch, look to The Clarence (22 seated), The Concord (10 seated) or The Victoria (16 seated) which are sleek and sophisticated spaces complete with AV technology.

Main house reception rooms are characterised by Jacobean chimney pieces, antique furnishings and fine art, while 44 bedrooms range in style from the traditional to the contemporary. Both the intimate restaurant and Tithe Barn provide stunning backdrops for dining.

Keen to take part in a team-building activity while you're there? Choose from wellness walks, wine tastings, duck herding and more whacky and wonderful entertainment.
