A King’s Road institution since opening in the late 90s, the mini empire that is the Bluebird is an all-encompassing event space half-way down Chelsea’s most famous road. Its five function rooms all lend themselves well to festive entertaining, while the restaurant’s main dining room, bar and cobbled (and heated) courtyard ensures that parties of all sizes are able to celebrate the festive season at this chic SW3 haunt.
Bluebird boasts five private dining rooms of various sizes, which are able to seat between 10 and 120 guests for lunch and dinner. Located in the eaves of the building and overlooking the main restaurant is the Mezzanine Room, which provides an excellent vantage point from which to soak up the atmosphere below while enjoying your own exclusive space (for up to 24 seated). The Bluebird Room was formally known as the members’ bar, and does indeed boast its own private bar, making it suitable for both dinner and drinks receptions. This room can hold up to 26 seated, or 50 standing.
The Gallery Room is better suited to larger Christmas parties, a light-filled space with a private bar and atrium-style ceiling able to hold 84 guests for dinner. While the Beaufort Room can hold 44 for a Christmas feast and boasts luxurious art-deco interiors. Finally, the Campbell Room is a large, versatile open space (for 250 standing guests) which can be used for festive celebrations or dry hire if preferred.
There are three festive menus available at various price levels depending on the style and size of your party. All include three courses per person, as well as sides to share. Examples of dishes include cured Loch Duart salmon with horseradish cream and soda bread to start, Bronze turkey with confit leg, stuffing, red cabbage, sprouts, carrots and gravy for main course and Grandma Smith’s Christmas pudding with brandy custard to finish.
Do note that the restaurant is also open on Christmas day with an exciting three course lunch menu available.
