Founded in 1775, Royal Thames Yacht Club is the oldest of its kind in the world. Its Knightsbridge HQ, which operates as a private members’ club, is – as you’d expect – packed to the gunwales with
history, but it’s the flexibility of the building’s configuration that lends it so readily to events. The largest of the spaces, the Coffee Room Restaurant, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and
view over Hyde Park, holds up to 120 for a reception, which can be upped to 220 when combined with the Mountbatten Suite. A range of smaller rooms, including the handsome Queenborough and Library,
are better suited to boardroom meetings. For alfresco drinks, the Britannia Bar has a lovely deck.
