Scott's review of Valentina

Visited this place on 31st May on the eve of their 1st Birthday of the Putney branch. WOW, what an evening. Read plenty of decent reviews for it, but never actually went until now. The Deli on the ground floor has everything you would expect from a traditional Itialian deli, think Carluccios, but actually on a more family orientated level and a less commercial feel, I much prefer it! Fantastic array of wine and sumptious looking food. We were escorted upstairs to the restaurant where a glass of Prosecco awaited us to help celebrate with them. Enjoyed bread and oils and a simple but so tasty pasta with tomato, rosemary and pecorino, whilst my fiance had the meatball bake with tagliatele. We were then given a complimentary slice of the most delightful chocolate souffle and ice cream…followed by an Espresso. Simple, authentic, tasty, family, relaxed and good value is the best way for me to sum this up. The Barolo I bought on my way out will sit in my cellar for a good 10 years…and I hope this place will still be here then too!
