I have been to Trishna several times since its opening (as I work locally) and have eaten pretty much all of the dishes on the menu. What I like/is good about Trishna:

1. Food. Ingredients of absolutely best quality, cooked to perfection (most of the times) and presented in interesting ways. Seriously good food to eat, look at and smell. Miles ahead of food served in other mid to high end Indian restaurants and bears no comparison to them. Highlights for me: bream, prawns, mussels and picked crab (notice the seafood bias).

2. Décor / Ambience. Minimal, unobtrusive and understated with a clear Nordic influence. It could very well have been an organic coffee shop in Stockholm or a breakfast place in Oslo. For me, it allows you to focus on the food and people around you – unlike an overly theatrical or “busy” restaurant that detracts from the purpose of the visit.

3. Service. Naturally expectations of service in such a place are very high. Most of the times they get it right– i.e. staff are almost invisible but still there when you need them. There were a couple of occasions in the early days when the service was jerky and left more wanted. On escalating this with the manager they said that members of staff were off sick so the rest of the staff were more stretched than usual. But I have to say that management seem to have addressed this issue, as on my recent visits

4. Price. I like seriously good quality food and on that basis the à la carte prices are reasonable. I would probably put it on a par with Zuma and Roka. With the toptable offer it is a steal!

Would love to get the equivalent place for Spanish food – maybe someone out there can listen and open one?
