Appalling service and a lack of staff professionalism. We dined last night using SquareMeal's 25% food discount and were made to feel like second class citizens. Twice the maitre'd publicly (and embarrasingly) questioned the validity of the offer I agreed on booking. What followed was farcical: a number of the dishes on the menu were unavailable. Since our wine was hidden from us, waiters had to be repeatedly called to fill our wine glasses. Upon leaving the restaurant we noticed in a bucket half a bottle of our dessert wine remaining – the waiter conceded he'd completely forgotton it was ours. With so much better competition in the area (e.g. The Colony) this kind of amateurism is unacceptable at this price.

Following the above visit in April… we decided to pay Trishna another visit on Saturday night (Aug) since we were in the area. It was a different and much improved experience compared to the last time I was there. Service was helpful and on the right side of friendly. Food and service were outstanding. Our guests – both vegetarian – asked for a dish not on the menu (something any indian restaurant should easily manage- particularly for veggies) – they were very accommodating. The duck seekh kebabs were special. On the waiter's strong recommendation we tried the marinated roast pheasant – its not one we'd have ordinarily gone for but it was beautiful. This dish alone is one we will probably go back for. Special mention should also go to the wine list. An often neglected and frequently overpriced element of some indian restaurants. Last saturday we enjoyed their well thought out range with some interesting good value choices.
