On arrival we were told that the concept was sharing plates. The menu is mostly meat or fish dishes, we ordered steak and chips, pulled pork shoulder and asked for the egg brioche. Apparently there were no poached eggs, so the duck and pancakes were suggested.
Not sure how steak and chips fits into the sharing concept but that was tasty. The pork dish was more like a salad, lots of leaves not much meat. Couldn't taste any apple. The duck and pancakes just didn't work, presented like a Chinese dish but the duck was still pink and too chewy to eat in a pancake.
For dessert I had the chocolate gateau which was a lot chocolatier than the description suggests and made the meal better.
£84 for 2 with a bottle of red wine, coffee . Not good value for money.
As for the restaurant itself, I was not impressed by its accessibility for those with mobility impairment (as I have ), all the seats were very high up and the toilets are down a couple of flights of stairs. There is a lift (as I remember from the chez Gerard days) but I was told it was very old and wasn't working.
We won't be going again.
