I booked a table for 5 on a Thursday night straight after work as a leaving do for someone at my work. Two of our party arrived at The Drift at around 5.15pm and were shown to the table. They had their drink order taken and were served their drinks promptly. The rest of the party (three) arrived at around 5.40pm and were shown upstairs to the table. A man came over and took the drinks order for two of the three people arriving later and walked off to place the order! He didn't wait to take the third order! We then had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive while the waitress and another member of staff were talking… our drinks were behind them on the counter waiting to come to the table! We managed to wave a member of staff over who then took the last remaining drinks order and eventually brought the other two drinks over. One of the party had to ask several times for a glass for the bottle of beer they had ordered, the waitress turned around and got a water glass from the next table! We all ordered the same meal, reef, beef and bubbles and were asked how we would like the steak cooking. One person asked to replace the chips with salad and was told that this was fine. When the food arrived, all five “plates” had chips on them! We did receive a salad bowl as well. Rather than complain about the chips we figured it was easier just to accept what we had been given. The lobster was very rubbery… very difficult to get out of the shell when you're not given a lobster pick/fork and only get a lobster claw cracker. The steak was cold, but was cooked to our requests. Everything just seemed to take ages to arrive. The only thing that was quick was the waitress bringing the bill and taking the cash! Won't be going back again.
