A friend and I had dinner before a show last friday evening. We had booked for 630, ordered at 640 and the show started at 8, plenty of time, we thought.
Our starters arrived at 700. My friend's Prawn tempura were undercooked and some prawns were frozen. My smoke salmon moose was adequate but it left a horrible after taste.
By 730 the main meals had not arrived and after complaining twice we finally received our meals at 738 – the show started at 8, unreserved seating so it was suggested to queue early and enter the studio at 740. The risotto had undercooked vegetables, dry and not seasoned well enough for the price of it and my Ravioli come bogged under a very unappetising grey coloured mud, apparently a mushroom sauce, which had little taste and was completely unseasoned whilst the pasta was overcooked.
Both our meals were inedible and we had to complain. After some insistence, one meal was taken off the price and service charge taken off (as if it was the very nice waitresses fault) and neither of the 3 managers on duty offered any apology. We ended up paying £49 for the lack of pleasure. (The wine was £22 and was not too bad).
Such a bad experience, never again.
If you really must eat here then order the bar menu of burgers and chips which the chef seemed to be able to handle. This is one restaurant which is living more in a world of delusions than illusions of grandeur.
