Having enjoyed an early dinner on two occasions at this establishment. I can only say that on both visits, the restaurant has exceeded my expectations in regard to the quality of the food, the wine and of course the splendid and unobtrusive service.
The menu has a balance that would be the envy of your average yogi, while the wine list has a depth and quality that is superb and compliments the menu. On our first visit the Olympics was in full swing and a number of couples popped in on chance off the street, this was taken in everyone’s stride, the service was not dropped one jot, no matter what was requested or how they were dressed. This I found refreshing. Though I have to admit there was a moment of tension and a very noticeable intake of breath when a bottle of ketchup was requested by one diner. My hand reached for my mobile, finger hovering over the emergency number just in case.
Would I go again? yes of course. Would I recommend it? No of course not, as if it gets to popular it will become more difficult to get a table. However honesty being the best policy, yes I would recommend it to any lover of food and wine in a none stuffy or overly fussy atmosphere.
