We took my parents to Coq D'Argent for their wedding anniversary two weeks ago. The staff treated us like VIPs and were very attentive and professional. All three courses were nicely presented and served prompty, the portions were smallish but after 3 couses we were all full. My only criticism of the food was that the soup (lobster bisque) was too salty for me. I would recommend the sirloin steak for two to share – it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine I ordered was not in stock so one of the staff suggested an alternative based on my preferences and his choice was spot-on (and it was half the price of the one I originally chose!) I have visited the Brasserie before but this was my first time in the restaurant and I have nothing but praise for the staff. It is expensive to splash out on three courses with wine but it is really worth it, they have a cheaper set menu which looked very good also. This is a good place to take a group of people as you can have a conversation across the table without being drowned out by music, the decor is very smart with long white tablecloths and the toilets were spotless.
I took a client to the Brasserie a couple of summers ago, we were glad we chose to eat there as the steak and chips was excellent, it is much cheaper than the restaurant but the food is still fabulous. Afterwards we sat outside in the garden with a few glasses of Pimms and had a thouroughly civilised afternoon.
