WE LOVE THIS PLACE!
PErfect for all occasions – dates, anniversaries, boisterous family meals, private groups… This place really is the pride of South London.
The staff are all so friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgable and make the experience all the better. The atmosphere is relaxed and uncomplicated. The sommelier is a genius and the food is awesome.
Creamed morel taglietelle, foie gras parfait, fried duck egg, navarin of lamb and roast veal are all heartily recommended whilst the cote de boeuf and cod and olive oil mash recommend theirselves. The puds look spectacular but I'v never managed to resist the cheese board – a real experience!
We were once dining with family and were offered complimentary dessert wines to match our picks 'to make up for the delay in receiving our main course' – we hadn't even noticed! Bruce Poole then came out to check we were OK.
I feel guilty if I don't visit at least every other month although the recent price increase has made it more luxury. At Sunday lunchtime's however, its still an absolute bargain!
