We were the nightmare party in some ways. Four blokes, known each other for thirty years, but hadn't seen each other for a while. So lots of chat and the waitress had to come back a few times for drinks and then a food order. But to her credit she never looked irritated and didn't stop smiling. The food was timely and pleasantly served. The bill came instantly. So pretty good for service.
The food side wasn't quite so good, which isn't to say that anything we ate here was bad. Its a place that sets out to serve breakfast lunch and dinner in an environment that might remind you of a big modern department store cafe. The food's OK for casual eating. It doesn't try to be gourmet and it isn't. My pate and small steak frites were fine for what I paid for them, though its never going to excite me. I imagine I'll be back, probably with the same group of guys. Decent coffee, even if it was served in a glass. Glass of Verdejo wasn't brimming with character. A good place to eat when the company, rather than the restaurant or food, is going to be the hero.
