There is a nice buzz when you walk into the restaurant. Bocca di Lupo has a nice ambiance to it and warm lighting. When ordering wine for the table, our waitress brought over her colleague who gave us his best recommendations for the type of wine we wanted. He came across a little arrogant, but he was very knowledgeable about all the wines.
You're spoilt for choice with food. It's great to be able to try one of each of the fritti romani (sharing dishes), although you are paying £4 for something tha'ts gone in two bites. The boccocini's were divine, and the Courgette flower with mozzarella & anchovy was delicious as well although it was practically pouring with grease.
For the main I had the Orecchiette with 'nduja, red onion & tomato which had a lovely kick of spice to it and the Agnello cacio e ova (lamb) which just melted in your mouth and it was filled with so much flavour. I order them both in small sizes which was more than enough for me, but again the option of small or large sizes is great as you can try two dishes for the same price as 1 large.
The desserts had the icing on the cake. The Cinzia colada – pineapple drenched in rum, coconut sorbet – was extremely refreshing. The chocolate desserts were a bit too heavy after a large meal but delicious nonetheless.
Unfortunately there is a table turn over time of 2 hours, but understandable as the restaurant is quite small, but we didn't feel like we were rushed too much. For 6 of us the bill came to about £40 each, so very reasonably priced all in all. All in all a very pleasant experience and I would definitely love to go again.
