This is the second time I've eaten here. The regional Italian dishes are authentic, with some less common treats such as lamb sweetbreads. The starters are generally for sharing (a whole large artichoke with dressing and crab – a great dish), a seasonal pasta withe porcini was perfect (although the portion described as large was anything but large); a seabass was just simply poached but with a perfect cuisson. The puddings are less overwhelming. There are a few wines under £30, but not many. The cheap ones are well chosen, and this isn't the place to blow out on a posh bottle. The service is young, vibrant, attentive and professional.
My main critique is their business model of trying to pack three servings into each table each night – a pre-theatre, a during theatre, and an after-theatre. So with only two hours, the food comes quickly, and you may be rushed if you want to eat a pudding.
