We have eaten many times at Aubaine, Brompton Road, South Kensington and thought we would try this newest branch in Wimbledon Village.
So decided to have breakfast there this morning and sat outside in the garden area at the back of the restaurant which was very pretty and relatively spacious.
Our order of 2 fresh juices, scrambled eggs (2 eggs max), porridge, toast & jam and 2 teas came to eye watering £37.00 but it was not just the absurd prices charged it was the food itself and the lacklustre service.
Although the food was just ok, it was the size of the portions that were poor and one area of concern was that we asked specifically for the porridge to be made with water and not milk which was not a problem as we were told it could be prepared either way but when it arrived it had been made with milk and had to be returned and so we had to wait for another to be made correctly.
Service was attentive but not polished and we were forever having to ask for things that should have been offered to us in the first place.
Whether the local residents of Wimbledon Village will put up with the ridiculous prices charge by this restaurant only time will tell.
