For dinner midweek the menu offered a limited set of choices, but good variety. Across 4 diners we covered the menu options – the specialty starter of crispy pig's head actually came out as 2 marshmallow-sized nuggets, tasty and hot, reflecting lots of kitchen work to produce. The meat dishes (lamb, beef and pigeon) all looked good and tasted good too. One cavil – the cheese selection at £3.25 a portion produced 2 see-through slices and a piece of rind! The glass of port at £10 was a bit rich too. Wine choices were indeed reasonable and having the carafe option is a great idea.
