Serving dishes that combine the best of local & regional produce in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere, Carpe Diem has established a winning formula. Start the day with wild mushrooms on toasted brioche with a truffle cream sauce, say, or poached duck eggs on rye toast, or pop in at lunchtime for light bites such as smoked bacon & hot chicken salad with a garlic dressing, or posh sandwiches. At night, the seasonal menu may feature rabbit terrine with toasted brioche, fresh fig & rocket salad to start, followed by loin of pork with sauerkraut, black pudding, crispy potatoes, glazed apples & cider mustard butter.
