Square Meal review of Dragon-i:
This sophisticated, contemporary restaurant adjacent to the Theatre Royal, and just a stone’s throw from Sauchiehall Street, is pleasingly full of locals and tourists enjoying the unusual combination of Chinese cooking with Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese influences. The food is of the highest quality: a starter of Stornoway black pudding rolled pancakes topped with a Thai chilli sauce, and mains such as grilled tiger prawns, scallops, fish and crab claws tossed in a sweet chilli and ginger sauce, are great examples from the short, imaginative menu. Unusually for a Chinese restaurant, Dragon-i makes an effort with desserts: try lychee creme brulee or koko chan – a combination of chocolate truffle and fresh orange. The good value lunch and pre-theatre deals are worth noting.
