The Bell Inn

It’s hard to believe that the pretty village of Tanworth-in-Arden is only a short drive from the hub of Birmingham & Solihull. But in this leafy & well-heeled setting, the elegant Bell sits perfectly opposite the village green looking for all the world like a traditional horse-brass & beams pub. Inside, though, it is anything but. Thoroughly modern & chic, it is as comfortable as it is stylish (with bedrooms to match), & such a local draw that it’s advisable to book if you want to eat here. The menu offers a host of choice from modern & retro favourites such as flash-fried whitebait or proper, homemade sausage & mash, to the more exotic likes of braised Arabic-spiced lamb shank or Moroccan-marinated chicken with fattoush salad & vegetable couscous. Everything is done well & portions are hearty & excellent value.
