Handsworth is not a part of Birmingham to pull in the crowds, but Khazana’s all vegetarian, all-you-can-eat Chinese & Indian buffet, certainly packs them in. A brightly lit, simple yet smart, cafe-style eatery that offers fresh, well-cooked food at bargain prices, it’s no wonder it gets so crowded. The Indian dishes easily outnumber the Chinese & on the whole are more successful, whether it’s the ‘street bites’ such as delicious little kachori, dosas, fresh-out-of-the-oven samosas or hearty, spice-packed curries. The range of colours & aromas is mesmerising. Try the toasty almond rice drizzled with tamarind sauce to start & then embrace your inner glutton with a bit of everything you can manage. It may not go together but what the hell. There’s a range of good desserts too for the last man standing.
