This upscale food store & restaurant fills a longstanding gap in the Brighton & Hove culinary landscape. The deli stocks a well-chosen range of bread, fruit & veg, while the charcuterie & cheese counters heave with tempting items. In the restaurant, the all-day menu covers simple but delicious breakfast items such as French toast with bananas & maple syrup, light lunches of fishcakes with mayonnaise, or eggs Benedict with homemade hollandaise, & more sophisticated dinner dishes such as sea bass with crushed new potatoes, glazed baby beetroots & artichoke puree or rack of lamb with potato fondant, spring greens, onion confit & seared vine tomatoes. The short wine list takes a fairly priced, global view.
