A real family run restaurant, this well-established Italian has been churning out classic dishes since opening in 1998, but with the ‘children’ now in charge of the pots & pans, the cooking has taken a more ambitious turn. On offer now is an appealing menu of modern Italian food, one that pays close attention to the seasons as well as top-quality local & regional produce. Classy first courses include ravioli of new potato with wild mushrooms, or lobster tortellini with crushed peas, carrot & ginger emulsion. More ambitious mains follow: roast pork fillet, belly & cheek, pistachios, smoked chocolate & ras el hanout spice & parsnip, say, or sea bass with chicken wings & several different ways with carrots, while desserts range from a deconstructed tiramisu to a dark chocolate cake served with beetroot ice-cream.
