The Fishes

Thanks to a makeover in 2005, this restaurant’s interior is open-plan, light & stylishly uncluttered. There are menus to suit every occasion including a 30-minute business lunch, tapas-like deli boards, a wide-ranging a la carte & an extensive picnic list. Many of the starters such as courgette & mint risotto or free-range BBQ ribs are available as mains, while the deli boards offer everything from cold meats & cheese to seafood. Meanwhile, there are 11 picnic boxes including a healthy children’s option, as well as three wicker hampers large enough for up to three adults to share. The main conservatory dining area spills out onto wooden decking, with a view overlooking the three-acre garden. If you fancy something more secluded, borrow a picnic rug from the bar & seek out a quiet spot in the grounds.
