The Peacock Inn

Set in the sleepy village of Oxhill on the edge of the Cotswolds, The Peacock may look every inch the classic country pub but this recently relaunched local is thoroughly modern within. Sure, its cooking is based on traditional British recipes, but food is dished out with contemporary flair among swathes of cool, graphic wallpaper (a nice contrast to the simple wood fittings) and photographic art. Weekend lunches are refreshingly served throughout the day, and a mean roast complements a la carte staples on Sundays.
