Nathan Outlaw is a prodigious talent, who won Michelin stars at his previous two establishments & made it a hat trick at this stylish restaurant, part of the Marina Villa Hotel. His food is a real crowd-puller. A short menu plays with classic combinations, but while concepts are simple, dishes are beautifully timed & balanced with well-honed technique. And there’s no skimping on quality: lobster risotto tastes as fresh as a sea breeze, while new season asparagus with smoked mayonnaise, pea shoots & fried eggs, is richer but just as light. Mains are equally refined: rose veal is deliciously succulent, cleverly paired with cauliflower, sage, onion, & mushrooms. Similarly, tender pork is teamed with black pudding, apple & cider – a classic combination that is richly satisfying but not overpowering. Accompanying the food is polished, knowledgeable service, elegant decor, a stunning estuary backdrop, & an assured wine list.

Hotel not easy to find. I felt we should have been told about the parking, quite along, steep walk alway from hotel.Having not come prepared for that.We got soaked going back to the car after the meal.Tasting Menu.We had Artichoke soup ,scallops with celery, apple & curry, very salty sent back to kitchen. Wreck fish very nice, pigeon, lovely tender pigeon, not sure about chocolate sauce.Potato pancake bland.Rabbit with wild mushroom & tarragon couscous was fantastic !!. Rose veal .Pre dessert Pistachio nut Parfait not our thing.Chocolate fondant with Hazelnut ice cream.Last two courses to heavy on Nuts, my son doesn't like nuts.We wanted a cheese course before dessert, but weren't asked. We had it at the End instead.2 glass of Champagne £24 is Expensive, paid £13 @ Gordon Ramsay's in Chelsea.Overall a good meal, not a wonderful meal, which @ £100 per head inc 1 glass of wine, bottle of water & service. It should be.
