Square Meal review of The Restaurant Bar & Grill:
The Restaurant Bar & Grill, housed in the former General Post Office, is Leeds’ hottest restaurant opening of the last 12 months. It looks stunning inside & out, from the sweeping marble-pillared entrance to the floodlit wall of wine, lengthy mirrored bar, lofty windows & original stucco mouldings. Unfortunately the kitchen impresses far less. The informal menu features fish & chips, Thai green curry, smoked haddock risotto, Moroccan lamb tagine, & steak & chips, but careless execution has left many disappointed. If the cooking isn’t pulled up a notch, this year’s crowds will migrate to next year’s new thing.
