The Real Eating Company Lewes

Continuing the deli-restaurant concept of the Real Eating Company in Hove, the Lewes branch manages to outshine its older sister thanks to a more spacious layout. The Hove original can feel like you are eating in a shop, but the Lewes experience is definitely more restaurant-like with a classy dining room & smart, efficient staff. The food remains the same, taking full advantage of seasonal ingredients & provisions from the deli counter. The regularly changing dinner menu features starters such as warm goats’ cheese brioche, piquillo peppers & balsamic dressing, while mains could include seared tuna with chorizo or Barbary duck breast with candied orange & cumin saffron sauce. During the day, a relaxed cafe section at the front of the shop serves straightforward fare from eggs Benedict for breakfast to pea & mint risotto for lunch. Even better is eating alfresco on the large garden terrace.
