Square Meal review of Pataka:

There was once a Scottish-themed restaurant in these premises but it was short-lived – then in 1991 Noonu Miah moved in with his Bengali-style replacement. The twist in the tale is that Miah retained the previous deor – wall-to-wall Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This means dark wood, high-backed chairs, light walls with rose motif, & an art nouveau feel. The menu features loads of chicken, lamb & king prawn, available as korma, bhuna or biryani – but there is also a fair selection of other dishes. Tak begooni macchi is fried salmon in a tasty tomato-based curry, & there’s also lamb passanda, lemon or ginger chicken, & the odd tandoori item. There are the usual vegetarian alternatives, the staff are great, & the food is perfectly competent without springing any surprises. A good neighbourhood restaurant.
