The Legh Arms

This old fixture on the Prestbury scene remains a popular place to meet for a drink or a meal or to stay the night. The bedroom accommodation is charming & well appointed, a far nicer venue than many of the soulless Manchester Airport hotels a few miles away. You can eat in the bar, but in the evening it can feel too crowded & noisy. In the rather plush dining room, the comfort factor & prices are a little higher & the menu a mixture of traditional British favourites & modern Mediterranean influences. You'll find omelette Arnold Bennet with lobster & a main course of beef Wellington alongside grilled vegetable tarte tatin & side orders of bowls of olives & rocket salad. Among the desserts are bread-and-butter pudding & pannacotta. Portions are generous & service polite.
