Striking the right balance between the familiar & the novel, this handsome village inn has been renovated in a light, modern style incorporating restrained colours & modern brasserie furniture. The kitchen buys as much as possible from local producers & adopts a straightforward, no-fuss approach to fish & seasonal game. Also typical of the short menu is warm salad of wood pigeon, black pudding & bacon, & tenderloin of pork with prune & armagnac sauce. You'll also find sirloin steak & chips with a Colston Bassett Stilton & Lincolnshire Poacher ploughman’s for those in for a quick bite with their pint of Everards ale. Open fires, fresh flowers & a floodlit petanque court are also part of the charm, & five smart bedrooms make this a great weekend getaway.
